Keystone Science Center

FREEDM Systems Center is located in the Keystone Science Center in the heart of Centennial Campus at NC State University in Raleigh, NC.

Advanced Transportation Energy Lab

In our dedicated chassis dynamometer facility, advanced vehicle systems and controls are tested and validated. Using the Laboratory Rapid Assessment Tool, or LabRAT as it is lovingly known, researchers can test components in real world environments and real world drive cycles.

The FREEDM Systems Center College Education Program was designed to educate a new generation of engineers and scientists to research renewable energy based electric power systems.

For Students

Our Research Program focuses on three thrust areas with ten sub-thrusts. Researchers from across partner campuses provide critical expertise, research capabilities and leadership.

For Researchers

The Industry Collaboration and Innovation Program aims at forming a national and international partnership network to speed center results to practical application.
