Gerald Heydt

Professor Heydt hails from Las Vegas, Nevada. After 25 years on faculty at Purdue University, he accepted the role of site director at Arizona State University for the Power Systems Research Center. His industry experience includes Commonwealth Edison, EG&G and the UN Development Program. He authored two books and dozens of papers on power engineering. His research interests include electric power quality, distribution engineering, transmission engineering, computer applications in power engineering, power engineering education, and power system sensors and instrumentation. Dr. Heydt is a Regents’ Professor and professor of advanced technology at ASU, a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a life fellow of the IEEE.
