The FREEDM Systems Center offers companies and organizations the opportunity to utilize Center equipment and personnel to test electrical equipment. Our Green Energy Hub (GEH) high bay and our Research Low Bay are both highly configurable and able to accommodate a wide variety of devices for testing. FREEDM can provide staff and students to assist with data collection or customer personnel can work on site for the project.
The GEH has an array of equipment available for use in evaluative testing, including:
- 1 MW, 12 kV AC loop feeder
- 40 kW roof-mounted solar PV array
- Vehicle charging stations
- Mobile battery packs rated at 5 kWh
A more extensive list of available equipment can be provided upon request.
Our testing service does not include data analysis or interpretation – only raw data generated during testing is provided. Fortunately, this results in significantly lower costs compared to more comprehensive testing services. Industry members also enjoy a discounted rate for this service.
