DC microgrids have several advantages over AC microgrids but also face several design challenges. This webinar presented a novel energy management approach that optimizes operation of multiple, heterogenous energy storage devices in a DC microgrid. The proposed method is completely decentralized and requires no communication between device controllers. The presentation reviewed the system fundamentals and explained model derivation, stability analysis, and HIL simulation results.
