Dr. Sourish Sinha, a Research Engineer at Ford Motor Company and FREEDM graduate, was recognized by the IEEE Power Electronics Society for his submission of a Three Minute Thesis video. Sourish’s research focused on “High-Frequency Electromagnetic and Electrostatic Shielding for Wide Bandgap Power Modules.” Most power module packages today are limited in their switching rates by electromagnetic interference. “Higher power levels can be enabled through smarter applications of thin substrates and stacked dies,” said Sinha. “My research demonstrated better performance through 3D package design with ferromagnetic shielding.” You can view his full video on the FREEDM YouTube channel here.
