Innovation: Project Reports

In our tenth year, FREEDM research contributed new knowledge across multiple areas. Our core projects advanced the FREEDM System in fundamental topics like system controls and wide bandgap device design, in specific technologies like distributed grid intelligence and the solid state transformer, and in testbed development like the Green Energy Hub and Hardware-in-the-Loop. Related research projects pushed the envelope in DC circuit breakers, decentralized controls, microgrid optimization, DC fast chargers for electric vehicles, and much more.
